35 Week Pregnancy Update

How far along?
36 weeks and 1 day! Eeeek next week I am technically full term!!

Maternity clothes?
Nothing new but I have recently signed up to the Cook New Mums' discount scheme which offers all new mothers 10% off yummy meals for 6 months. This will be extremely helpful when baby arrives as I doubt I will have any time at all to think about cooking, so to stockpile the freezer now seems like a genius idea! The website is www.cookfood.net/newmums for anyone who is interested.

Stretch marks?
Despite feeling like a whale I am so thankful to say no! I have no idea how I have avoided them completely, maybe it is down to good genes or all the products I have been lathering on religiously? One oil/cream combo I am using at the moment which is absolutely beautiful is the Pai Stretch Mark Oil and Cream.  As it is 100% organic and is created with absolutely zero nasties, it does smell a bit 'funky' but the way it leaves your skin is absolutely incredible - just like a babies bottom!

Sleep?
Urgh sleep this week has been non existent! As baby has now descended quite low down (which is great) it means I am needing the loo constantly!! The night time loo trips have increased to five or six times a night, it must be my body preparing me for all the sleepless nights to come! Rolling over is still a serious task as my bump is so large and my body just aches all over, not much fun.

Best moment this week?
Putting the final finishing touches to the nursery and generally getting all the last little bits ready, which is so exciting.  It definitely is a huge relief to have everything organised and ready for little one's arrival and having the hospital bags packed! Washing, ironing and sorting a mountain of baby clothes has made it all seem incredibly real that I am going to have a baby in a months time but I am so ready to meet my baby now, I feel like I have been pregnant forever!

Worst moment this week?
Nothing awful this week, thank goodness! I had my 36 week midwife appointment yesterday and I asked the midwives to  finally weigh me as I was curious to see how much I had put on,  which was seriously depressing and I almost wish they hadn't asked as I have put on a lot of weight!! Fingers crossed it will be easy to lose.

Miss anything?
Just the same as the last few weeks but mainly being mobile! I am starting to really waddle now and walking anywhere is quite a struggle. I miss silly little things like being able to put my shoes on with ease, in fact doing anything with ease! I can not wait to feel light again!

Movement?
Movement has definitely slowed down a lot this week as there is zero room for baby to move around now.  I seem to have lots of wriggles and squirms and can now see little feet, hands and a bottom sticking out which is a little surreal but super cute.

Symptoms?
Lots of symptoms again this week, joy! I hope baby will engage soon as I have been getting quite a lot of lightening pains in my groin which is apparently a good indication this is going to happen soon. Loads and loads of Braxton Hicks contractions and the period pain like cramps, needing the loo every five seconds, swollen ankles and feet, tired legs, acid reflux, headaches, nausea in the morning, and general third trimester exhaustion!

General mood?
Apart from feeling constantly uncomfortable I am feeling a mixture of huge excitement at the arrival of bubba but also huge anxiety and a feeling of being quite overwhelmed.

Looking forward to?
Just to enjoy these last few weeks being with my husband, just the two of us! We are planning lots of date nights as it will be the last time for a while we will be able to go out for dinner etc! Mainly I am  looking forward to my baby's arrival, even if it is tinged with slight fear of the unknown!

33 & 34 Week Pregnancy Update

How far along?
34 weeks and 5 days

Maternity clothes?
I have just placed an ASOS order for two more pairs of maternity jeans and a few tops.  The final few weeks of pregnancy have made me cave in and I am now in dire need for maternity clothes! Even after I have had baby I will still be wearing them so hopefully I will get good use out of them. I am still praying I snap back to my pre pregnancy weight pretty quickly though! I also have a wedding to go to in April so I am on the lookout for a dress which is flattering and doesn't make me look like I am wearing a tent!  I have also stocked up on more Emma Jane nursing bras as they are so ridiculously comfortable.

Stretch marks?
Still nothing even though my belly is still itchy. Thanking my lucky stars!

Sleep?
Sleep has been ok these past few weeks although the loo trips in the night have increased which is such a pain! My pelvis seems to be worse at night too so I have the horrendous 'crunching' most nights which is still unbelievably eye-wateringly painful.  Pretty much every night now I experience Braxton Hicks and period pain like cramps which vary in pain levels but I just see it as my body's way of preparing for the birth and I use my hypnobirthing techniques to deal with the pain which is great practice!

Best moment this week?
We had our hospital tour this week which was fantastic and made me feel a lot more relaxed about where I will be giving birth, all the birthing suites had just been spruced up so they looked really bright, airy and very spacious.  It was quite daunting thinking that the next time we would be on that ward would be when we meet our baby!

Worst moment this week?
Nothing this week has been that bad, thank goodness! We finished all our NCT classes which was really sad and felt like the end of an era but we are all keeping in touch and meeting for suppers etc soon before babies make an appearance which will be lovely!

Food cravings?
Nothing really, I am still obsessed with Cadbury's creme eggs, but that's probably not pregnancy related!

Miss anything?
Same as the previous weeks, I am missing being able to bend over easily so putting on shoes is still pretty impossible.  Also supermarket shopping is a real chore as I can't bend down to the lower shelves, it sounds silly but it really is frustrating!  I just can't wait to feel lighter and not the size of a house and I am trying not to notice all the beautiful Spring/Summer fashion around at the moment as I can't fit into any of it - waaaaaaah!

Movement?
I have definitely noticed that baby's movement has slowed down a bit recently, they are still hugely active but I think space is becoming really limited so it's more like wriggles rather than lots of kicks and punches, although saying that, I am getting some super strong ones from time to time which still takes my breath away, especially when I have little feet kicking away at my ribs! Baby's hiccups are still a constant too, I am really trying to relish every single movement as I know it will be the one thing I will really miss about being pregnant.

Symptoms?
Lots and lots of Braxton Hicks and period pain like cramps, headaches, heartburn and acid reflux, rib pain, back pain, tired legs and feet, and in the last few days I have noticed some swelling in my ankles and feet. Oh the joys!

General mood?
Really happy but feeling a little anxious as my due date gets ever closer!

Looking forward to?
I am really looking forward to just enjoying these final few weeks of my pregnancy. I have lots of little person's clothes to wash and organise and I have to pack mine and baby's hospital bag and generally get the house in order! I can't quite believe that in 5 weeks I will be meeting my baby and becoming a mother - I can not wait!!

31 & 32 Week Pregnancy Update

How far along?
33 weeks and 1 day

Maternity clothes?
Nothing new apart from some underwear and practical things for my hospital bag!  As you might be able to tell from these pictures I can just about still fit into my old tops, so I might have to cave and buy a few maternity tops. The shops are full of such gorgeous clothes at the moment, which is torture as I can't fit into anything. *Sigh*

Stretch marks?
Still nothing, although the skin on my belly is so itchy so it must be stretching and growing. I am just slathering on the creams and oils non stop.

Sleep?
Sleep recently hasn't actually been that bad, or maybe I am just getting used to the discomfort! I still toss and turn constantly at night which is really odd as it takes forever to roll over!  I am so aware of the weight of baby and their comfort as I get huge kicks when I roll into a position they obviously don't like.  Third trimester tiredness has well and truly settled in now too - I just feel permanently tired all the time.

Best moment this week?
The reason I didn't manage to do an update last week was that our cat went missing for 5 days, I was absolutely devastated and was desperately creating posters etc trying to find her.  Amazingly she wondered back, she was absolutely fine apart from looking a little thin so I can only assume she was trapped somewhere. Having her back has to be the best thing that happened as I was so sure we had lost her. We also picked up our beautiful new pram, the Uppababy Vista.  It is so wonderful, I could not be more pleased with it and I can not wait to use it once baby arrives.

Worst moment this week?
So apart from the cat saga we also had a horrible scare this week.  I have been experiencing quite a few Braxton Hicks, so on Tuesday night when they started I thought nothing of it as they weren't that uncomfortable.  However, I kept waking up needing to pee and in quite a lot of pain but just put it down to the usual aches and pains with pregnancy. However, at around 1am I couldn't take the pain anymore, I was experiencing severe period pain like cramps the worst I have ever felt in my life. The pain was also shooting down my thighs and in my lower back and it was coming really regularly and lasting for a good 5-10 minutes.  I tried everything rolling in different positions, walking around and drinking water but nothing was stopping the cramps they just kept coming in huge waves.  I woke up my husband and decided to call the hospital just to see what their advice was and thought it was better to be safe than sorry.  The midwife on the end of the phone was lovely and said that I should come in to be checked over, so off we went.  I was hooked up to a machine which monitors the baby's heart rate and my contractions and was given a hand held buzzer to press every time I felt the baby move, which happened to be a lot, little one was quite happy dancing away! The midwife then felt my bump, took my blood pressure and tested my urine sample. Then a doctor came to give me an internal examination to see if my cervix was dilating etc. Luckily everything came back negative and what they think I was experiencing was masses of Braxton Hicks and tightenings. After what felt like forever we were sent home. Apart from the internal examination which, I am not going to lie, really really hurt, I think the scariest part of being on the ward was hearing and seeing other women in labour, they were crying and moaning and it really hammered home that that was going to be me in a few weeks!
That was definitely the scariest thing that has happened to me during this pregnancy - the thought of going into pre term labour at 33 weeks! It was amazing to hear baby's heartbeat for a good 30 minutes  but fingers crossed there will be no more false alarms and baby is happy in my womb for a few more weeks where they should be!

Food cravings?
Nothing really although I have noticed that my appetite has died down a lot this week and I am not feeling like I need to eat anything and everything! I am also struggling with big meals as everything is getting so squashed.

Miss anything?
I can no longer reach my feet so being able to put my shoes on without struggling and being able to walk normally without waddling! Also while the weather in the UK has been so warm and sunny, a nice glass of wine!

Movement?
Baby moves non stop I get huge kicks all the time which make me wince in pain as they are so strong now - It still feels like I have a mini Rambo in there! As baby is head down my ribs are getting a good old bashing too,  I am looking forward to when they move further down so I get some relief in the rib area as they constantly feel bruised at the moment.

Symptoms?
Lots of Braxton Hicks this week and the constant need to drink, I can't seem to drink enough water even though I get through 2 litres plus a day! My legs and feet feel seriously tired if I am standing for too long, even standing while cooking is hard work! I am still getting really out of breath when I walk anywhere which is such a pain and I just feel extremely heavy and tired.

General mood?
Happy and excited that the countdown is really on,  I can't believe in a matter of weeks I get to meet my baby!

Looking forward to?
The last couple of NCT classes, after one this coming Saturday we are all going for lunch afterwards which will be really lovely to actually get to know everyone a little better. I have my week 34 midwife appointment next week too, I can't believe how close we are now to our due date, I feel like I have been pregnant forever!

30 Week Pregnancy Update

How far along?
31 weeks today

Maternity clothes?
Nothing new this week but I have just bought a birthing ball which is seriously comfortable and has really helped with my pelvic pain.

Stretch marks?
Still nothing, fingers crossed I can escape them!

Sleep?
Oh I wish I could write something positive about sleep, but sadly sleeping is still so uncomfortable.  Bump is so heavy now and for some reason all I want to do is toss and turn at night, which constantly wakes me up as my pelvis is not only screaming at me, but I feel like I have a huge bowling ball in my tummy.  Baby has also decided they want to be the most active in the middle of the night so I am woken up by huge kicks!  I actually love being woken up by them but it just means sleeping is really disturbed and I feel constantly tired because of it.

Best moment this week?
Watching baby dancing around in my tummy has to be the best thing this week, they are so strong now and I will never fail to be completely in awe of this tiny life growing inside of me.  I am pretty sure I can identify body parts now which is so exciting.  I am feeling massively positive and relaxed about the birth and the last few weeks of pregnancy,  practising my hypnobirth everyday has really helped and it has taught me to completely trust in nature and my body and that I am more than capable of being able to give birth - girl power and all!

Worst moment this week?
I didn't have the nicest doctors appointment this week, I was so looking forward to hearing baby's heartbeat but the monitor they normally use wasn't available so my doctor used one of those old fashioned listening devices which really hurt when he pushed it into my tummy.  My blood pressure was also really high so I have to go back tomorrow for another check and baby is still measuring slightly small but I am sure it is because I am so tall.  I  also had the whooping cough injection this week which was absolutely fine, it just left me with a lovely dead arm!

Food cravings?
I am obsessed with Cadbury's cream eggs!! This has to be a serious perk with being pregnant at this time of year.

Miss anything?
It may sound silly but I really miss just being free to do things that I used to like, using certain beauty products, having a drink, going for long walks or runs, eating anything and everything without a second thought and not panicking about everything, like if I walk past someone who is smoking.  I keep daydreaming about having a glass of champagne and a platter of sushi - not long now!

Movement?
Huge amounts of movement this week, sometimes it feels like I have Rambo in my tummy and the kicks can really be quite painful if baby is in certain positions, for some reason kicks in the side of my tummy are really uncomfortable!  Baby is still getting regular hiccups and has started to do what can only be described as a Mexican wave in my tummy - so cute!

Symptoms?
Still the horrible pelvis pain and back ache this week, I think I will be grumbling about my pelvis until baby is here!  I am getting more and more breathless and just ridiculously tired all the time, it is first trimester all over again!  I am also even more forgetful at the moment and so clumsy!! I am dropping and spilling everything, it is becoming a bit of a joke just how much my brain is failing me!

General mood?
Really content and happy this week.

Looking forward to?
I have a breast feeding class on Friday with NCT which should be really helpful.

29 Week Pregnancy Update

How far along?
30 weeks and 1 day

Maternity clothes?
I stocked up on the most comfortable maternity bras, Emma Jane. They have been an absolute lifesaver! Jo Jo Maman Bebe offer a brilliant measuring service and stock various maternity bras but the Emma Jane bras really are the best.

Stretch marks?
None - I am so obsessed with the Mama Mio stretch mark oil, it smells heavenly and literally has magical powers when it comes to softening the skin!

Sleep?
This week sleep has been pretty bad, my pelvic pain has been horrendous and on Sunday night during my many loo trips my pelvis decided to give way and 'crunch' the pain was horrific, it made me feel like I was going to throw up instantly and I cried so much with the pain :(  I only hope labour isn't as painful as that was!! Bump is also getting much heavier so rolling over in bed is becoming challenging to say the least.

Best moment this week?
We had our first Hypnobirth session this week and it was amazing!! I felt completely relaxed and so much more confident about the birth after the session.  I am definitely someone who benefits from any relaxation technique so it was hugely beneficial and inspiring, I would highly recommend it! We have two more sessions left and I have to practice everyday.  We also had our first NCT class yesterday which was  brilliant and so fantastic to meet other couples in the same position, so I am really looking forward to the next one.

Worst moment this week?
Just my pelvic pain, my physio has helped but it is still so painful!

Food cravings?
Nothing really but I am still ravenous all the time and it feels like my life is revolved around food!  I am also drinking a huge amount, I always drink masses of water but I have been needing to up my intake this week.

Miss anything?
I am missing being able to do simple things with ease like, putting on my shoes or getting up from a chair and I miss not having continuous aches and pains!

Movement?
Lots of wonderful kicks and prods this week, sometimes it feels like baby is having a rave in my tummy!  Baby has also had lots of bouts of hiccups this week, so much so I wanted to call the midwife to check it was normal!  I feel so bad for them when it happens, poor little angel!

Symptoms?
This week I experienced my first Braxton Hicks!  They didn't hurt just felt quite uncomfortable and so bizarre when your belly completely tightens, it was like baby was being vacuum packed!  Everything is starting to feel very real now, I can't believe I am going to be a mummy in two months! My heartburn has also returned this week, which is horrible, everything just feels extremely squashed now! The third trimester tiredness has decided to make itself known too this week, growing a human being is hard!!

General mood?
So happy but quite impatient to meet this little one now!

Looking forward to?
More Hypnobirth and NCT classes and hearing baby's heartbeat again on Monday at my 31 week check up.

28 Week Pregnancy Update

Sorry for the wellies! We were walking the doggies

How far along?
29 weeks today

Total weight gain?
I still have no idea but I have definitely noticed it in the thigh and hip area and possibly in my face! Waaaaa!!

Maternity clothes?
Nothing new but I have got some gorgeous things for baby. The Little White Company is a dangerous place!

Stretch marks?
Still nothing - I am applying every oil and cream religiously! My Linea nigra line is getting stronger and it's wonky!

Sleep?
Sleep hasn't been too bad this week thank goodness although I still have the lovely midnight loo trips and I am definitely noticing the weight of baby now when I roll over.

Best moment this week?
It has been a really nice and relaxed week this week, I had a wonderful birthday and got super spoilt -  it was just so nice to relax with my husband, going for country walks and having cozy nights in watching baby moving around in my tummy.  Also our moses basket arrived this week and it is so so beautiful, it is from Emile et Rose - I can not wait for baby to be here now!

Worst moment this week?
On Monday night my pelvis decided to give up on me! I simply couldn't move and the pain was excruciating! I had to be carried upstairs, which was a drama in itself as I am not as light as I used to be! The pain has only just subsided after a lot of rest! Three years ago I was unfortunate to break my hip and although I am fully recovered and my surgeon said my pregnancy won't be affected I feel that my pelvic pain is a result of the weakness in that area as the pain only really occurs on the side where I had my fracture.  I have decided to try some antenatal physio next week and hopefully that will help relieve some of the pain!

Food cravings?
I am still hungry all the time, even though it is getting harder and harder to eat a lot as my stomach is getting so squashed!

Miss anything?
I just miss my old body - being able to move, pick things up and walk without waddling and getting really out of breath!

Movement?
Heaps of movement this week, the kicks and prods are getting so so strong - no more scary moments of quiet this week that is for sure! I have felt baby hiccuping for the first time this week and it is the cutest thing ever! Sometimes they can last for 15 minutes at a time and I feel bad there isn't anything I can do to help stop them!

Symptoms?
I have a delightful list of symptoms this week!  Backache, pelvic pain, heartburn, itchy tummy, period pain like cramps, tiredness, sore feet and when baby decides to rest on my bladder - a million loo trips!

General mood?
Despite all my aches and pains I am very happy!

Looking forward to?
Starting our NCT classes in one week today!  I can not believe how quickly the third trimester is going - two months time I am going to be a mummy!

27 Week Pregnancy Update

How far along?
28 weeks and 1 day

Total weight gain?
Unfortunately my midwife didn't weigh me at my 28 week appointment so I still have no idea, but this week I have noticed some weight gain in the thigh area. *cries a little*

Maternity clothes?
I was lucky enough to receive some Jo Jo Maman Bebe vouchers at Christmas so I am going to buy some Emma Jane nursing bras next week as I have read these are super duper comfortable. Just what I need right now!

Stretch marks?
Nope - long may this last!

Sleep?
Sleeping this week has been a bit hit and miss, after my acupuncture appointment last week I have definitely noticed an improvement in my pelvic pain (thank goodness).  However, this week I have had to go to the loo a lot more at night, I am really hoping it is just baby resting on my bladder as it is so tiring hauling out of bed 3/4 times a night - thank goodness for an en suite!

Best moment this week?
This week there have been so many amazing moments! Firstly on Saturday the husband and I did some serious damage in John Lewis (it has to be the best place for everything baby).  We managed to buy a lot of the main items for baby like a moses basket, car seat, rocker, nursing chair and the most exciting of all, the pram!! I had every intention to buy the Bugaboo Cameleon 3 simply because it had been recommended by every mummy I know and we wanted a buggy that can go through all types of terrains.  That was until we saw the UPPAbaby Vista and compared the two, and the Uppababy just blew the Bugaboo out of the water in terms of extras, usability and general design.  I will do a full review of this pram once baby is here and I can give it the best test drive - serious inner-girl in me excitement!
The second amazing thing that happened this week was hearing baby's heartbeat at my midwife appointment, I am so overwhelmed every time.  Baby was head down and measuring a little on the small side but my midwife said this is just because I am so tall! Baby has also started to really push out on my stomach so you can see big lumps and it gives my bump such a peculiar shape which is so funny to watch! I love watching this little darling growing everyday it has to be the most awe-inspiring experience.
The last brilliant thing that happened this week, was I finally got my hair done after 7 looooong months, so ignore my awful before hair in these pictures!

Worst moment this week?
I had two scary days when baby decided to not wriggle around as much as I was used to.  Thankfully I was due to see my midwife the following day so it was a momentous relief to hear that little heartbeat! She has said this can be fairly common especially if you are dehydrated or running around doing a lot, it is such a scary and anxious time when baby goes quiet I really hope it doesn't happen again.

Food cravings?
I am still wanting to eat everything and anything this week but I have also been really craving pineapple.

Miss anything?
Nothing really just my old pre-pregnancy body and being able to wear my old clothes!

Movement?
Apart from those scary two days when baby was quieter than normal, movement has been crazy this week! This baby definitely likes pushing up against my belly! I am really looking forward to being able to identify different body parts when this happens.  I have also witnessed some amazing flips and kicks.

Symptoms?
Thankfully after the miracle that is acupuncture, my pelvic pain has subsided - woo hoo! However my lower back pain seems to have increased along with the good old acid reflux, bleurgh.  It definitely feels like everything is getting more squashed now and sometimes it feels like my stomach is up inside my lungs!  Also in the evenings my nausea has returned (please no) but it doesn't last long thank goodness, I really really hope it doesn't rear it's ugly head again as I have read it can in the third trimester - ah the joys!

General mood?
Really happy this week

Looking forward to?
It is my birthday on Sunday so I am looking forward to being with my gorgeous husband and family and eating lots of cake!

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

I have never been a huge fan of all these BB and CC creams and with every brand releasing them to death the mind does boggle as to which one is actually worth it! I have been on the look out for a brilliant 'no fuss' tinted moisturiser that I can use once baby is here - as I will have zero time for anything and I'm sure in desperate need of a skin boost! After I saw Lisa Eldridge rave on about this one I thought it has to be worth a try and well, this is definitely worth it!

This wonderful cream comes in four shades to choose from and contains three colour correcting pigments; apricot for anti-fatigue, green for anti-redness and white for anti-dark spots.  All of this does seems a little bit too good to be true but somehow it does absolute wonders for my tired pregnancy skin.  It gives you fantastic coverage without being heavy or 'mask like' and leaves your complexion flawless and super radiant - a subtle glow that I've only ever noticed after a facial.

The texture is beautifully lightweight and really blendable, Bourjois have this nailed down to an art form with most of their products - Bourjois Healthy Mix and Happy Light are incredible foundations.  On the skin it feels almost undetectable and gives superb hydration all day without being greasy in the slightest, so perfect for all skin types and it also contains SPF 15.  All this for under £10 - what's not to like?!

Week 26 Pregnancy Update

Apologies for the horrendous picture quality! iPhones are dreadful cameras

How far along?
27 weeks and 1 day today

Total weight gain?
I will find out early next week at my 28 week midwife appointment, but it has to be a lot I look like I have swallowed a beach ball!

Maternity clothes?
Nothing new but I definitely need to buy some maternity tops now.

Stretch marks?
Nothing, yay!

Sleep?
This week sleeping hasn't been great, my pelvic pain has increased! Every slight movement in bed wakes me up with excruciating pain which means I still need an extra cat nap during the day!

Best moment this week?
Probably getting to know baby's routine, it is so nice to know when they are active and when they are resting.  Although this week they have discovered my ribs!

Worst moment this week?
Just this horrible pelvic pain and not being able to take painkillers.

Food cravings?
Nothing this week - I just want to eat everything and anything! Food is all I think about, which is so weird for me.

Miss anything?
I really miss my old pre pregnancy body and I miss being more mobile, things are definitely getting harder as I am getting bigger.

Movement?
Loads of movement this week which I absolutely love, there is honestly no better feeling in this world than feeling your baby moving inside of you.  The kicks and jabs are definitely getting stronger every week which still never fails to take my breath away.

Symptoms?
The absolute worst symptom this week has to be the pelvic pain! It feels like my pelvis is actually broken and any slight movement is torture, I am having acupuncture later today so hopefully this will help relieve it.  Still have bad acid reflux and heartburn this week and in the evenings I have been getting period pain like cramps, but they don't last long.

Gender?
We know but we want to try and keep it a surprise which is so hard, especially with baby brain!

General mood?
Generally this week my mood has been great but I still get the random bouts of crying that come from nowhere and I just feel really emotional and teary for no reason! I know it is just the pesky hormones but I feel like a crazy person when it happens.

Looking forward to?
I can not wait for the weekend as the husband and I are going baby shopping for quite a few big baby items like the moses basket, the pram, car seat etc - super exciting!

Juicing

My acupuncturist first mentioned I should try juicing as a fantastic way to benefit from essential vitamins and minerals while I struggled to hold down food.  It sounded like the perfect solution, as I was worried about baby not being able to get any nutrients while I was so horribly sick.  From that day on I have not looked back and I am now totally obsessed with juicing!  I  have a juice a day now and not only do they taste sublime, but I feel nicely reassured baby is feeling the benefits too.

All you need to get started is a juicer (prices can vary from £30-£500) and of course the ingredients.  I use the Magimix Le Duo Plus XL Juicer which is perfect and does a great job.  If you wanted something more versatile (for sauces, chopping, soups) I would recommend the legendary and incredible Vitamix, which is reflected in the price and definitely the king of all juicers - serious lust!

My must have ingredients to serve as a base for the juice are apples, spinach and celery ( I use all of these in every juice).  I sometimes add ginger or cinnamon to boost the taste and if you like your juice to be very runny I would add some bottled water, coconut water or ice.   If you wanted to make it more of a smoothie simply add some dollops of natural yogurt and sprinkle seeds or goji berries - so yummy!
You really can invent any recipe you like and it is so fun to think and create new ones.  If you wanted to follow a recipe book for juices I would highly recommend Jason Vale's The Juice Master book, which is crammed full of wonderful different juices to try and he explains in depth all the health benefits that comes from juicing and a really informative section in the back on each fruit and vegetable's vitamins and minerals and what they can be good for - it really is a brilliant and inspiring book!

My current favourite recipe:

A large handful of spinach -  1 celery stalk -  a good handful of kale - 2 peeled kiwis - two apples - 2 handfuls of blueberries - a good handful of blackberries - half a small peeled pineapple .

 Et voilĂ !
